This is an excellent introduction to the Jewels of Egypt including excursions to the “A” list of antiquity sites and museums along the Nile.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1

ARRIVAL

Arriving in Cairo staff assists with clearing immigration and customs then transfers you to the Steigenberger Pyramids hotel. Overnight Cairo.

VISAS: All travelers to Egypt are required to obtain a visa. Travelers from many countries can get theirs on arrival or on the web at https://www.visa2egypt.gov.eg
We can provide visa upon arrival for the same cost depending on the nationality

DAY 2

SAQQARA, DAHSHUR, GIZA PLATEAU

A guided tour of Sakkarra, famous for its Stepped Pyramid. Visit the tomb of Maia, wet nurse to King Tut (and maybe his half-sister). Dahshur, with its famous Bent and Red Pyramids plus the new Imhotep museum. Then visit the Giza Plateau with the seventh wonder of the world, Cheop’s Pyramid, and the inscrutable Sphinx. Overnight Steigenberger Pyramids / Cairo. Meals: Breakfast NOTE: Your guide can arrange entry to the Great pyramid or a photo op camel ride while you are there.

DAY 3

GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM

Enjoy a guided tour of the new Grand Egyptian Museum where you will marvel at King Tut’s treasures. At over 5 million square feet the museum is the largest in the world dedicated to a single civilization. Overnight Cairo Meals: Breakfast NOTE: If the Grand Egyptian is not open at the time of your travel, you will tour the Egyptian National Museum.

DAY 4

FLY TO ASWAN, TEMPLE OF PHILAE, UNFINISHED OBELISK, NUBIAN MUSEUM

Staff will transfer you to the airport, assist with checking in and you fly to Aswan. Arriving tour, the Temple of Philae, the Pharaohs Granite quarries with the unfinished obelisk and the Nubian Museum, a world class presentation of Nubia’s culture and history. After the tour staff will transfer you to the Movenpick Aswan hotel where you will have a Nile view room. Overnight Movenpick Aswan. 

DAY 5

ABU SIMBEL

Depart your hotel at 8AM for a road trip to Abu Simbel. Arriving tour, the famous temples of Ramses then return to Aswan arriving about 5PM. Overnight Movenpick Aswan

DAY 6

ASWAN TO LUXOR

Depart your hotel at 8:30AM for a road journey to Luxor. Along the way stop to tour the Temple of Two Gods at Kom Ombo and the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Arriving Luxor mid-afternoon transfer to the Steigenberger Achti resort where you will have a Deluxe Nile view room. Overnight Luxor

DAY 7

NECROPOLIS OF THEBES, TEMPLES OF KARNAK AND LUXOR

Buffet breakfast followed by an early departure for the West bank and the Necropolis of Thebes where you will visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon visit the famous Temples of Karnak and Luxor. Overnight Steigenberger Achti Luxor

DAY 8

LUXOR TO CAIRO, OLD CAIRO, CITADEL, KHAN EL KHALILI BAZAAR

Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in for a morning EgyptAir flight to Cairo. Arriving enjoy a tour of Old Cairo with its famous churches and synagogue, the Citadel of Salah el Din, bane of the crusaders and the Khan el Khalili bazaar where travelers have been finding bargains since the middle ages before checking in at the Hilton Heliopolis where you will have a Deluxe room. Overnight Cairo. Meals: Breakfast

Tour Includes

Domestic flights in Egypt from Cairo to Aswan and Luxor to Cairo in coach (economy) class.
All transfers by air-conditioned vehicle relating to the tour program starting with arrival to Cairo.
Baggage and personal effects are always at the owner’s risk during the tour (baggage handling does NOT include tips for bellmen, porters, etc.).
Hotels based on double occupancy. Meals as noted. Included meals are in the main dining room, no specialty restaurants or room service.
Fees for visiting antiquity sites and museums that are included in the program. Services of an English-speaking licensed Egyptologist. Service charges and taxes.
